So since I’m running late for work anyway (which is typical), and yet I need to eat lunch, I figure I’d sit here and just make a quick update while I munch.
I’ve thrown myself head first into my Nora cosplay. Yesterday, I went to the Goodwill Store and found a cute peasant blouse top to wear for it. I had to sit for hours last night picking out the embellishments, but now it’s simple and I put it through the wash. So peasant top: Check. I also spent the better part of this morning drafting and cutting the pieces for my simple, homespun looking skirt, using fabric Denya had given me (thus why I’m running late). I now have the four panels set to go, and all I have to do is stitch them together into my skirt. I already have the sandals and cloak I need. I still need to find a brown vest (since I don’t really want to make it). I also need to make a shepherd’s staff, and I’ve already found a ram’s horn blowing horn to purchase on eBay to use. So when I put it all down in my blog, Nora’s costume seems far from complete. But really, it’s coming along swimmingly.
Other than that, I’ve also gone about getting my Julia costume back up to par. Basically, this just means purchasing a new wig (whose auction is set to end in an hour, so I’m pretty sure I won it). And then, I just need to borrow the corset from Denya and the handgun from Auerion, and I’m all set.
It’s never too early to get your costumes done ^.^
