Slowly but surely, the content for Tutorial #2: Cosplay-Perfect Makeup is in the works. The theory is that unless you’re a girly-girl who spends a ridiculous amount of time in front of the mirror each day, the average cosplayer (as in, there are cosplayers out there who are pros!) doesn’t know how to apply makeup in order to enhance the overall look of their cosplay. So, with myself as the guinea pig (and I’ve made a lot of mistakes!) I plan on bringing you a simple I-can-do-this tutorial on how to add to your cosplay.
Tutorial #2 isn’t out just yet, but when it is, it will be a three part extravaganza from the easiest to the most difficult look to achieve. We’ll begin with makeup basics, which could be utilized for just walking around a convention and having your picture snapped by random passers-by. Then, we’ll get a little more advanced with photo-shoot makeup, which will focus on the coveted “porcelain doll”/CGI look. And finally, we’ll advance on to performance makeup–which is meant for if you and your costume will be up on stage–and specialty techniques.
If anyone has any questions about makeup that they think might be a good idea to include in the tutorial, or if anyone wants to see or read about something very specific, I’d be more than happy to entertain your ideas! Just drop me a line and I’ll either start experimenting or I’ll start doing the research.
I’ll post when Tutorial 2-Part 1 is up and ready.
